Conference Location

Acton University will take place in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, from June 12-15, 2007 at the L.V. Eberhard Center of Grand Valley State University. Evening lectures on June 13 and 14 will take place at the Grand Rapids Public Museum.


Conference Fees and Financial Assistance

Student - All students selected to attend will receive a full fellowship, which covers conference and lecture fees, meals and double occupancy lodging from June 12-16, 2007. In addition, a limited number of travel scholarships are available to assist with transportation costs to and from the conference. To apply, complete the financial assistance portion of the conference application.

Non-student - Non-student participants may choose one of the following attendance packages. Limited fee and travel assistance is available for part-time students, teachers, clergy and non-profit professionals. To apply, complete the financial assistance portion of the conference registration form.

  • Standard: This package includes conference and lecture fees, lunches, dinners, and receptions for the duration of the conference. $450
  • Comprehensive: This package includes conference and lecture fees, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, receptions, and single occupancy lodging at the Days Inn Downtown, Grand Rapids from the evening of June 12 to the morning of June 16. $650

In case of cancellation, Acton will furnish full refunds up to two weeks prior to the event.

Accommodations

Comprehensive Conference Package
This package includes room rates and taxes from June 12-15, 2007. Any incidentals and extra nights lodging will be the responsibility of the participant. Reservations at the Days Inn Downtown, adjacent to the L.V. Eberhard Center, will be arranged by the Acton Institute.

Standard Conference Package
Participants are responsible for booking their own hotel reservations. The hotels listed below are within walking distance of the conference center.

  • Days Inn Downtown Acton has arranged for a special conference rate of $68 per night. To take advantage of this special rate, call (616)235-7611. The rate is based on availability. Please give the reservations agent the code CGAI65.
  • Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Rooms beginning at $139 per night. For reservations, call (616)242-6000..

Travel

Participants travelling by plane should fly into the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR). Further information regarding arrival, departure and provided ground transportation will be included in registration packets.

Participants who are driving should plan on arriving at the L.V. Eberhard Center in time to to register at 4:30pm on Tuesday, June 12. For directions to the conference site, please click here.
