Judges

Doug Bandow is a senior fellow at the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C. and a member of the Acton Institute Advisory Board. He is a syndicated columnist and author of a number of books on public policy and religion.

J. Michael Beers, a Catholic priest, is an associate professor of Patristic Theology at Mount Saint Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Robert Johansen is the 1996 Essay Competition winner. He is currently studying for the priesthood for the Diocese of Arlington, Viriginia, at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia.

Leonard P. Liggio is Executive Vice-President of the Atlas Economic Research Foundation, Treasurer of the Mont Pelerin Society, Distinguished Senior Scholar at the Institute for Humane Studies, and Research Professor in the Law School at George Mason University. He was formerly President of the Institute for Humane Studies and the Philadelphia Society.

Jennifer Roback Morse is a Senior Fellow of the Acton Institute. She has been on the economics faculties at Yale University and George Mason University. She has written on economics and ethics and on the economics of race relations.

Ronald Nash is professor of Philosophy of Religion at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida.

Edmund Opitz is a Congregational minister. He is a contributing editor to the Freeman journal and a widely published author.

Robert A. Sirico is a Catholic priest and President of the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty.
